"The original EP already was a feast for sore ears, but these remixes shine even brighter. A meeting of legends is happening on the vinyl version with interpretations by RVDS aka Richard von der Schulenburg, IDM-veterans Future Beat Alliance and - a name which needs no introduction - Move D. RVDS uses a quick 303-flavour paired with ritual flutes from Tibet in Melodica style and bleating Rave Sheeps, while Move D goes down a dreamy acid route, freely roaming through the widely reverberat-ing halls and floors of deep house. And Future Beat Alliance presents a deep, deep oomph of down-beat electronica for the later hours."

The whole album is amazing. Empires is, overall, my favorite ... (1) Because it's extra quirky (2) It's the longest track on the album ... and I like long tracks.
Whole album is great, though. 5/5 stars. 10/10.... all we need is more of Shima!
And, I think, a trio collaboration between John Shima, Derek Carr and, of course, Mr Rutter himself would be extra special :) simplybeourselves
This hammering slab of dark techno comes to wax at last, with its deep grooves and body-wrecking beats as potent as ever. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 3, 2020
